Sacrifice

I love this quote! My bmom friend, Megan, shared it with me & I think of it all the time.

I always remember from Primary lessons that Sacrifice is: giving up something good for something better.

 Placing a child for adoption is a HUGE sacrifice! Each single & pregnant girl is faced with this decision. Do I keep my baby & single parent (which can be 'good') or do I place my child for adoption (often times 'something better'). 

Whenever I pondered placing E with her family, I constantly weighed the pros and cons. For me, the pros definitely outweighed the cons. Although, I absolutely had some very heavy cons that I truly cherished (having a beautiful baby girl all to myself, for one!).

Looking back, I can most definitely see that the Lord blessed me so much because of my 'great' sacrifice. I am so thankful for this. Although I've been through pains I would never wish on anyone, I now know that it was all for my good; to help me become who I am today & who I want to be in the future.

I guess my message is that if you know in your heart that something is right, even though it may be the most difficult act you will ever do, have the strength to make the sacrifice. You will be blessed for it & eventually have the peace & joy you are looking for.
